About

Yael Novak

Hi, I’m Yael Novak — a student, researcher, and advocate for more equitable health tools. I created the InNova Index because I saw a major flaw in how we assess body weight and health.

Traditional measures like BMI ignore critical factors like race, gender, and body proportions, which can lead to misleading results and harmful assumptions — especially for people in marginalized communities. I wanted to create a more inclusive, personalized, and scientifically accurate tool that respects the diversity of real human bodies.

The InNova Index is my attempt to rethink how we define health. It uses inputs like height, waist-to-hip ratio, race, and gender to give a more meaningful understanding of body composition. My goal is to help shift the conversation away from one-size-fits-all metrics and toward tools that actually reflect our differences — and value them.
